Shortest day of the year

A nice sunny day at Ellison park, late afternoon sun, bitter cold. Good girls get a cookie.

Motel in Vermont

We were whipped. Long drive.

Lacey's New Hampshire Digs

October in New England

In October, we went to the northern wilds of New Hampshire. It was hunting season, so Lacey is outfitted in dayglo orange. She had a good time. Stuck to me like glue, most of the time.

Playing Catchup

I've been inspired to catch up on the blog. Also received a nice music CD/gift from a blogger who I've read off and on for a few years. What a great connection to make. I'll be sending hers off in the mail today after lacey's nap.

So anyway, in August we went to a family thing and Lacey brought BFF Lily along. It was fun. Lacey and Lily got lots of attention.

Puppy kisses while driving!

December Transport - Dylan

Dylan, the one year old blue merle Aussie, travelled from Ohio to Ottowa on Sunday. What a sweet boy. He slept with his head on my lap from Henrietta to Syr. It was hard to hand him over. I'd have just as soon taken him home to Webster. I know Lacey would love a brother. Anyway, another sweet boy on his way to a permanent home.

Best Friends

Such a beautiful tongue. We love our Aunt Allie.

Yeah, so where does the time go? I don't know. Here it is, Labor Day weekend. Wow. That sure came up fast. Next thing you know, christmas. Well since July 4 we've been dealing with separation anxiety. We're using Lavender oil, DAP collar, and occasionally, Xanax. Yesterday she was alone for 4.5 hours. I don't think the Xanax even touched her until about an hour after we were home. Next time, I'm thinking that I'll take the Xanax and just put her in her Thundershirt. She wore it all morning today, and we left her with a sitter while we went to the farmer's market. No Xanax. She did OK. Heavy breathing and panting, but no drooling. Took her about 20 min to calm down after we came back to her. If you have no interest in dog behavior or seperation anxiety, or thunder anxiety, you probably won't want to come back here much. It's an interesting topic to research. I'd prefer that my interest were strickly academic. OH well.

AIDS walk

The walk was a success. We raised $160. We were exhausted. A nice lady took our picture while we rested in the grass.

AIDS Rochester, Inc. Walk-Lacey and Tom

We'll be walking tomorrow to raise funds for AIDS Rochester, Inc. I've only reached 30% of my goal. It's hard asking for donations. And I've been a slacker. Anyway, if any of my HOARDS of blog readers would like to support Lacey and I for the fund raiser, here's our donation page...

Two More get Transported to NEW HOMES!!!

How cute are they? Who would discard dogs like this? Thankfully, someone, somewhere, wants them. It was a long day for them yesterday, from W. Va. to Ontario Canada. For more information on Aussie adoption, visit www.aussierescue.org
